Still
driving the coastal provincial road , you reach Sampieri, administratively
belonging to the municipality of Scicli, and perhaps the most picturesque
of the province's shore towns, with little stone's houses and alleys
lying on the sea, and that typical look of fishermen's place, nowadays
nearly extinct along the coast of Sicily.
In
spite of this picturesque and "old" design, Sampieri is
well equipped with every kind of accommodation structures, hotels,
restaurants, night clubs and one of the most beautiful natural shores
in Sicily.
"U
stabilimientu 'bbruciatu' " (From Sicilian dialect : the burnt
building), set on the cliff between Sampieri and Marina di Modica,
is a former (che industria era?)factory, then accidentally burnt
( inserisci data o cancella); it is often used as a cinematographic
set.
