The ethnological and anthropological museum of Giarratana, the fruit
of a successful co-operation between the local authorities and Co.pa.i.,
is an interactive museum, and a permanent asset for the already
charming old town centre of Giarratana.
Museum
(which could be defined the Museum
of rural village heritage") is the answer to the deeply felt
need to protect
the traditions, folklore and cultural roots of the local people
and area at a certain time in history, and at the same time, to
"tell" about all this using new technologies.
 For
this reason, the ethnological and anthropological Museum of Giarratana
has been equipped with the most recent technological systems to
win visitors' attention and stimulate all five senses, with the
help of electronic and multimedia aids. Visitors will be totally
enraptured by the enchanting atmosphere of the museum rooms, guided
by a voice through remote-controlled earphones, made to hear animal
voices, to relive everyday life in olden times, to listen to ancient
songs and lullabies, tu smell typical fragrances and to taste local
delicacies which can later be bought from nearby shops.
The
Museum is, in short, a completely new experience, a revolutionary
way of spreading culture and of taking part in cultural events,
a full immersion in the heritage of our ancestors.
