 Blending
rural and cultural tourism, this path takes the visitor on a journey
of discovery through the delights of the Hyblaean area.
Our
goal has been to open up the entire Great Hyblaean Path, a tract
that snakes through the mountain comuni of Chiaramonte Gulfi, Giarratana
and Monterosso Almo. This uniquely suggestive, long and varied route
covers myriad uncontaminated valleys, winding through suberbly picturesque
landscapes and archaeological remains, following the abandoned railway.
The entire path is perfumed by aromatic herbs and dotted with the
wild figs and shrubs that history has planted in this natural and
archaeological paradise. Today, finally, thanks to a voluntary effort
involving both public and private bodies, that paradise is open
to the walker, cyclist and horse rider.
