The economy of the town is prevalently supported by agriculture, which has found here unusual fertile and level grounds.

The intensive production is highly focused on hothouse and early fruit cultivations, where the town of Scicli is among the first producers of the province and of all Sicily.

Industrial activities are notably supported by or connected to agriculture: there is a large production of oil, wine, carob products, citrus and, of recent, of flowers.
